We are looking for professionals with a
passion for celebrating and supporting young LGBTQ+ people
to join the QSA2025 judging panel.
YOU MIGHT BE:
working in early careers/student recruitment
a specialist focused on equity, diversity and inclusion
someone interested in ensuring that marginalised voices are heard
someone who works in education and/or has done previously
an influencer whose work focuses on sexuality and/or gender identity.
someone who considers themselves to be an active ally for the LGBTQ+ community
WHY JUDGE THE QUEER STUDENT AWARDS?
As a judge for QSA2025, you will have the unique opportunity to:
GAIN INSIGHTS INTO THE WORK BEING DONE BY YOUNG LGBTQ+ PEOPLE AND ORGANISATIONS THAT IS SUPPORTING LGBTQ+ INCLUSION - You will have an insider’s view of the often innovative work being done by students, apprentices, graduates, employers and educational institutions to create safe, inclusive LGBTQ+ spaces.
GROW YOUR PROFESSIONAL NETWORK - Connect and collaborate with other like-minded professionals in the field of student recruitment, ED&I and education. Expand your network, exchange ideas, and engage with other thought leaders who are driving innovation and positive change for LGBTQ+ inclusion.
CHAMPION LGBTQ+ EXCELLENCE - Your expertise and insights will play a pivotal role in selecting and celebrating the best initiatives, groups, organisations and individuals working towards, and in support of, LGBTQ+ inclusion. Your contribution will help set the standard for excellence and could inspire more young LGBTQ+ people and the organisations supporting them to set the bar higher with regards to LGBTQ+ inclusion in the future.
WHAT’S INVOLVED?
Judging the QSAs is done so on a voluntary basis and we are unable to support with any travel or accommodation costs.
Each judge commits to:
Actively promote their role as a judge in their professional network and via their preferred social media channel(s)
Attending a virtual briefing for the judging panel (Thursday 20th March 2025, 7.30-9pm via Zoom)
Taking responsibility for individually reviewing and scoring their allocated categories/entries
Participating in a virtual group judging session to discuss their scoring and notes with other QSA judges reviewing the same categories/entries (Wednesday 25th April 2025, 7.30-9pm via Zoom)
Promoting the QSA2025 shortlist and live final in their professional network and via their preferred social media channel(s)
Attending the QSA2025 final in-person to show visible support for our finalists and winners (scheduled for 26th June 2025) - all judges will receive a FREE ticket to attend and a discount code for up to a guest to accompany them
