MX ADAM KHAN
Queen Mary’s University London
Adam (they/them) was nominated for their activism on campus at Queen Marys London, as well as with local LGBT+ organisations and other London-based LGBT+ societies. They were also recognised for their bravery publishing and writing to platform LGBTQ+ voices, in both poetry and newspapers, whilst publicly standing up to the Government and media.
ADDI HARAN DIMAN
University of Oxford
Nominated for her work as a student leader and activist at the University of Oxford. Addi (she/her) has used her leadership platform as the OULGBTQ+ Society President to oppose speakers bringing campaigns of hate and misinformation to Oxford, and reinvigorated society activities within, and outside of the university, including Oxford Trans+ Pride. This summer she will become the first transgender Student Union President at Oxford.
AVANI ELI
Imperial College London
Nominated for her dedicated activism on behalf of all LGBTQ+ young people, particularly within Imperial College London’s student community in her role as LGBTQ+ officer for the Students’ Union. Avani (she/her) has advocated for the inclusion of under-represented trans+ voices to ensure they are reflected in institutional policies. She has identified gaps in service provision on campus and actively worked towards filling these.
HOLLY RAYNER
University of Essex
Holly (they/any) was nominated for their work in role as the LGBTQ+ officer at the University of Essex fighting tirelessly against an increase in homophobic and transphobic incidents across the campus, as well as ensuring those who are victims are fully supported. They have been determined to represent every community within the LGBTQ+ umbrella and stepped in when others were unable to do so.
JOEL MORDI
University of York
Joel (he/him) was nominated for the ways in which his activism stems from a deep commitment to justice, fuelled by personal experiences and a desire to create a better world. His activism focuses on challenging backward laws, policies and theoretic worldwide, amplifying the voices of marginalized communities, whilst engaging people with his message of inclusivity and equality.
NEVE STORY
University of Cambridge
Neve (they/them) was nominated for their work as the founder and lead ambassador for Trans in the City UK’s student ambassador programme. Neve has used this opportunity to speak out about and address issues relating to equity, diversity and inclusion and gender diverse students. They have been pivotal in organising events and reaching out to students to expand reach.
