  • ARCHBISHOP SENTAMU ACADEMY

    HULL

    As part of Archbishop’s action plan to eradicate homophobia their Pride group creates assemblies and pastoral sessions for both LGBT History and Pride month, and the school consults students on the PHSE curriculum. Staff wear lanyards to show visible allyship, and students are encouraged to network with and show solidarity to other LGBTQ+ students at events outside their local community.

    CHEADLE

    Cheadle Hulme has created an inclusive environment for its students through Pride month celebrations, their Student Equalities Society, a podcast and by launching a gender neutral uniform policy. Beyond the school grounds regular articles on allyship feature in their alumni magazine. 

  • HABERDASHERS' ABRAHAM DARBY

    TELFORD

    Haberdashers’ has fostered a culture of acceptance amongst its students and staff, in particular those who are trans. Student experiences are regularly captured using surveys to ensure that the academy’s focus on supporting positive mental health and wellbeing remains a priority. Display boards  are used to raise awareness of prominent LGBTQ+ people in history.

  • OAK ACADEMY

    BOURNEMOUTH

    Oak’s Rainbow Alliance Club supports and brings together a culturally and religiously and neurodiverse population of students from its surrounding deprived catchment, demonstrating the importance of intersectionality for their ‘queer collective’. Assemblies delivered during Pride month shared examples of brave community leaders from the Stonewall Riots with other students,, as well as giving their LGBTQ+ students a space to visibly exist and thrive.
